We were hesitant to post this initially but after several creditable news sources have picked up on the story and no one within her camp refuting the claim, we now must report that Joan (Joanie) Marie Laurer, better known to the world as Chyna has passed away. She was found in her apartment in Redondo Beach, California on Wednesday (4/20/16).

Chyna found her fame as a professional wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment in the late 90's and became one of the first women on the roster to regularly compete against the men. Over her time with the company she became an Intercontinental Champion, a staple in the popular faction D-Generation-X, Women's Champion, the first woman to compete in the Royal Rumble and a high-selling Playboy cover girl. Joanie had succeeded in nearly every turn of her professional wrestling career. Unfortunately, the years afterward were rougher but just as recently as this year she was fighting to re-establish her life, prove she was worthy of another chance and becoming a WWE Hall of Fame inductee.

It's probably very likely she will now have the Hall Of Fame induction to cap off her stellar career but sadly she will not be there to be apart of it. We close in saying Joanie fought her demons bravely. She was on the road to redemption and we hope that if she knew nothing else about her true fans is that they didn't turn their backs on her, even in the worst of times.

Rest In Peace Joanie Laurer. You were a trailblazer.
